About Scene Name Committer
Scene Name Committer is an Ableton Live 12 Extension that renames scenes using the clip names on a chosen track.
To use it, right-click an audio or MIDI track in Live and choose Commit Scene Names From Track. The extension scans that track's clip slots from top to bottom and renames the scene at the same index to the clip name in that slot. Empty clip slots and clips with blank names are skipped, so the existing scene name is kept. When it finishes, it reports either "Renamed N scenes from Track Name." or "No scenes renamed from Track Name."
The extension only renames scenes. It does not create, delete, move, launch or edit clips.
Limitations stated by the author:
- Arrangement clips are not used; only Session View clip slots are read.
- Return tracks and the main track do not expose this action.
- Windows has not been tested yet.
- There is no preview or confirmation dialog in this version.
Requirements:
- Ableton Live 12 Suite with Extensions support.
